Gaming Library Recovered

Howdy everyone. Kevin Kennedy retrieved the UGA Gamers' Association Gaming Library from our former president. An effort is being undertaken to catalog the games and material, restore and replace damaged and missing pieces, and possibly to set up some sort of rental system. To this end, we will be ho...

The meeting is at the usual time (i.e. 7:00 pm). We will meet in the SLC on the second floor outside Jittery Joe's. Emails have and will be sent to as many people as possible. I will post a synopsis of the meeting here for anyone who was unable to attend, and anyone who has anything they'd like to b...

Meeting Friday!

There will be a meeting Friday. Hopefully this meeting will be in TATE, as they had the downstairs up and running this weekend.

More info to follow.

Hey zerotkatama. We've got two guys trying to start games, ad we'll be holding a meeting at the SLC in the next two weeks. One of those people who is starting/looking for a game has posted a thread. Check that one out. Also another player will be posting soon with a thread on forming a new game. Yes...

Tate Center is SNAFU

The Tate center is more or less closed until May.

The upstairs is still open, but no reservations available. I'd recommend grabbing some space at the SLC.

We probably ought to get together to discuss how we're going to do this, though.

The Gamers' Association can help. We get hit up by one-offs all the time (four in the last week). It's a bit bothersome, really, because I know that we have enough for a new game to form but for what ever reason these people give up after one visit so nothing ever happens. Honestly, that's my plan right now. I'm going to see if I can talk EMO into letting us use our two rentals consecutively on Friday for "the other group." The rest of us will game about campus, be that in the Tate center student activities room, upstairs, or the SLC. It doesn't look like there's a pr...

Re: Topics to be Discussed on Friday the 22nd

Dues A lot of folks stepped up and contributed, so thanks. Remember this is going towards our fund raiser, so failure to pay is the equivalent of stealing from and killing children. ...but no pressure. Rooms The SLC seems like a good option for the renovation period when Tate will be closed. I'm lo...

Basil Press is situated on the corner of N. Lumpkin and E. Washington. They use good quality ingredients and the simple flavors are well executed, but you can do a lot better for the price. It's a good semi-formal dining experience, but overall I'd say they are too conservative. This is an excellen...

One of the reasons I suggest GameStop is that we wouldn't need a ton of equipment. They've got all that stuff as they run these kinds of tournaments themselves. Even if we opt to do it elsewhere (or if they wouldn't agree to this for whatever reason), advertising there would be guaranteed to reach ...

Actually the folks over there have been pretty cool about it. We've been able to game 'till midnight for the past couple of days.

But someone complained and we're on a two strike system. I want everyone to be aware of the situation so we can mitigate any contentious exchanges.

In addition, let's try to be out of the building by midnight. The night shift is doing us a favor by letting us hang around, so let's not take advantage of their good will.

Ideally we'd be such an amiable lot that they'd be sore over asking us to leave at nine.
