Tuesday AT-43 event

This Tuesday our normal RPG is taking a break so we are going to show the others AT-43. I think we can run 4 games at once, so if you would like to learn or help teach, show up.

To prepare, I have created army lists for four games. The links are below, and critiques are welcome:

Melee A: UNA vs. Red Block UPDATED 2/18/08

Melee B: UNA vs Therians

Melee C: Red Blok vs. Karmans UPDATED 2/18/08

Melee D: Karmans vs. Therians

just so you know, Steve or I don't have any Krasnye or Sierp models. Maybe Keith is bringing his though, if so, just ignore this post.

Sounds like a good plan to me, as long as someone else can provide the Red Blok mini's Tyson and I don?t have. Also a good idea would be to print out extra copies of the rules, because we are going to need at least 1 copy per table. Also I'm going to try to get my schools clinical rotation switched to the 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. shift so I can be there, if my professor doesn?t buy it then I wont be able to show..... but I'm going find out by Monday evenening.

In the Karmans vs the Red Blok game, the Karmans effectively have nothing that can damage the 3 Kolossus guys. If these are just going to be demo games, then it won't matter much, but if you want them to be some what competitive, you might want to switch the Kolossus unit out with something from the UNA game.

I will print out 2 copies of the rules; good idea. I hope you can make it.

You are right. Right now they would have to mix it up with the kolossi hand to hand. I will see what I can figure out when I get the list of the other units from Tyson and/or Steve.

I tried something else, until I get the updated list. Check it out (above).

In addition to what you posted, we also have:
2 Nakovlny Recon striders
2 Dragonov commando units + 1 Dragonov attatchment
1 Kossak assault strider
1 Sgt. Timofevya hero

That should be everything you left out. As a note, a full Dragonov unit with 3 snipers is probably too powerful for a small skirmish game but one sniper or the AT Gauss gun would be cool to show a beginner player two of the most fun weapons in the Red Blok army book.

Well it turns out I cant switch my hospital rotation, so I wont be there tommorow night, but I'll try to stop by around noon tommorow and drop off my red blok codex, Tyson also has one of his own so maybe an extra will help.

What do electronics warfare (from the dragonov kommandos) and St. Timofeva's abilities do?

Well, I hate to say it, but in the Karman vs Red Blok game, the Karman player will be seriously miffed. Mentor Freezer can only attack vehicles for stupid reason, and he has no guns. The electronics officers take away one of the enemy's leadership points for each one and Sgt. T on foot counts as an electronics officer, that's the disruption ability. So the Karman player would be allowed only one order per turn.

So as an alternative maybe you could have this:

Karmans- 8 Anakongas w/ 2 flamers, Mentor
2 K-Fighters, Mentor

Red Blok- 1 Kossak
6 Spetzna Kommandos w/ 1 flamer, Sgt.
9 Dragonov Kommados w/ AT Gauss, Mst. Sgt., medic, E.W.

The point for each side is 945 and 940 respectively, so it's a slightly bigger game than you intended, but, logistically, it's not too much more complicated and the Karman player has two units and a little bit of balance.

I was worried about the EW and and I had no idea about mentor freezer. Dagnabbit! I absolutely appreciate the criticism, but I am already using the K fighters in Melee D vs the therians.

How about this?

Karman 1085 APs
- 8 Anakongas (Guide, 2 Flamer)
- 1 Easy Trike (Mentor)
- 1 Easy Trike (Mentor)


Red Block 1030 APs
- 10 RPG Soldaty (Lieutenant, 1 MGauss)
- 8 Dragonov Kommandos (Sergeant, 1 AT Gauss Gun)
- Kossak
