Short Minis, Top dollar!!

Post by HurricaneGirl » Thu Aug 20, 2009 2:43 am

So I'm tooling around ebay looking for fun stuff and come across this auction of Squats. On sprues no less. "Holy cow!" says I, no one is going to want these ugly old figs (did I mention sprues?) and they'd make a great Guard platoon in my Guard/Sisters army that's currently occupying a box in my "geekery". So I 'click' ye olde watche button there and think I'm going to pick up some more classical figures. Oh but NO! SIXTY ONE dollars those 20 little guys went for. Who knew! Some collector swiped them I'd wager. And you know, I bet they never even come off the sprue. *sigh*

An unopened copy of warharmmer quest can go for over 200$. And its expansions can go for $80-100. Some stuff can be worth alot to future collectors. Thats why I am ordered three copies of Space Hulk...
Eldar 15-3-0
Space Orks 8-3-2
Orcs 5-3-1
Dark Elves 4-2

I knew Quest fetched a large price. I have hunted that game up and down. Man o' War usually goes for $100 -150, which is why I was surprised when I found a copy for $50. I even felt a little twinge of guild before snapping into the sprues. But only a little one...

3 copies!! wow!! one for me right? late birfday prezzie!! :D j/k

Plastic Squats. Who knew. I thought back in the day Warhammer minis only came in pewter.

I notice there's no photos of the Squats in Terminator armor (aka "armored M&Ms")... good call on someone's part.

oops. I stand corrected...

I have my squats from back in the day. They will be forming my second IG platoon. Can't wait to get them repainted! No vehicles though (still have the multi melta off the trike though!)

My only two remaining squats will appear in my Inquisitorial retinue.
