Hi there, I'm an Athens local and board game enthusiast/designer. I have designed an RPG board game along the lines of Talisman or Arkam Horror which I am calling Harbinger. I've been playtesting it for the past few months, and it is essentially complete.
I'm having a demo of Harbinger at Tyche's, on Saturday, Feb 27th at noon. All are welcome!
What makes Harbinger unique is the importance of alignment (Good, Neutral, Evil) to gameplay. The Good players work as a team, and can win cooperatively, whereas the Neutral and Evil players win individually. The Evil players gain victory points for killing other characters, even Evil characters.
Here is the blurb from the front of the rulebook:
| Quote: |
| The King's seers have foretold that the entire Kingdom will be destroyed before the year is over. A royal summons has been issued across the land for the Heroes of the Realm to assemble in the King's palace to be briefed about this startling revelation. Starting from the City, these Heroes will scour the countryside and delve into deep caverns looking for clues as to the nature of the coming Armageddon, and brave any danger if it would prevent the Great Evil from destroying the land. There are also those, powerful men and women, who are not so noble. They pursue only their own small concerns, such as acquiring wealth, power, fame, and fortune, yet their lives are in no less danger from the Great Evil. Some twisted souls may even endeavor to hasten the arrival of Armageddon. They are among the challenges that the King's Heroes must face if the Kingdom is to be saved. |
If anyone would like to take a look at the rulebook before we play, let me know! I can e-mail it to you.
I'm looking forward to seeing you there! |
